How to make a good impression on social media?

19/02/2023

Thank you for reading!

In other words, today I want to talk to you about an interesting idea.
In short, if there is a first impression in real life, then can we talk about a first impression on Social Media too?
If so, what impact would a first impression have on Social Media?
The idea for this post came to me after reading the excerpt below:
"A study conducted at the University of Austin in Texas shows that people can correctly judge 9 out of 10 personality traits just by looking at a photo of a person unknown to them. What's more, this accuracy was achieved when the people in the photos did not have mimed expressions but were natural."
Now think, how about replacing the word photograph, with advertisement.
The first ad seen on Facebook and the first impression a potential customer forms about your business.
If the ad is good, even if they won't buy, at least they'll have you in their sights.
And that's because you've given him a positive energy and managed to capture his attention with interesting and useful stuff.  But there's the other side.
The one where you don't get the ball rolling and you make him say "I'm sick of your ads"...

So how exactly do you make a good impression with an ad on Facebook or Instagram or Google Ads?
In my experience, there are 3 things to consider.
1 - You need good text.
And to have a good text, you need to know the main desires and objections of the potential customer.
For example, if you've recently opened a massage parlour, think about what people interested in such a service would want besides relaxation.
Maybe they are attracted by a certain price category, maybe they would like to receive a certain type of massage - and so on.
Before you write the copy, do a little research so that your ad makes a good impression on social media.

2 - You need authentic photos
For example, don't use pictures from Shutterstock to promote your business.
If you own a marketing agency, put pictures of your employees, if you own a restaurant, put pictures of the chef, if you own a car repair shop, put pictures of your most senior employee.
This way you show that you have nothing to hide and at the same time convey more confidence.
Also remember.
People are not attracted to perfection in 2023.
Rather, they're looking for the story behind a brand, and you have the opportunity to share it with them every day.

3 - Video - Video - Video
A video ad conveys much more information and emotion than a graphic one. We see this everywhere...
And if in that video you manage to be natural and don't look like a little robot reading from a sheet, then your chances of capturing the user's attention will increase considerably.
Remember,
Thousands of brands fight for it every day, and if you want to have a better chance of success, you'll need video.
That's about it for today. :)
